My First Learning Experiences With Christine Schenk

There are many things in life which make a person happy. One of the greatest pleasures is healing. I love my work and its scope extending to medical and psychological diagnosis and methods of healing. Nevertheless I found, after years of professional life, my level of energy decreasing after a day's work. I even feared one or the other patient. I realized that certain patients take away energy from me – in most cases without even wanting or knowing it. As I treat many patients who are seriously ill in my practice, I attributed my energy loss to my inner confrontation with death and suffering. Astonishingly I developed symptoms of illness which got more and more alike the symptoms my patients showed. Did I attract patients who were like me or did I adopt their symptoms? It got harder for me to keep up with the demanding rhythm of a practice which operates five days a week and I began withdrawing from the front. Then Sylvia Souy approached me after her first training with Christine Schenk. Sylvia knew of my problems and asked me to look at her work in detail. Because I live and work in the U.S. this was difficult. I invited Christine – and she came!

Christine Schenk's training course in the U.S. has been going on for two years now. In the meantime much has changed for me: I am able to treat more patients a day than before. The treatments are deeper and more complete. The rate of healings has increased. There are no longer patients I fear. Sometimes after treatments I feel exhausted, however, and I realize the energy loss. The time span between the energy loss and the realization that something has gone wrong decreases however. The time I need to figure out what went wrong has also decreased. The relationships to friends and family are more real and more intensive, because I am able to allow nearness without – in Christine's words – 'giving away my seat'. The necessary healthy borders between me and my patients and colleagues grow more stable. When I give trainings it is easier for me to keep to a healthy rhythm and pace. In short, my quality of life has changed. I am healthier and I have more structure – and time! – in my life.

I am in close contact with two other participants: Lina Garcia lives in Chicago. Originally she is from Brazil. She is a dentist and a cranial-osteopath. Within the last two years she has become one of the world's most famous healers: chronic depressions and pains disappear under her hands within one or only a few treatments. Christine is one of the teachers Lina owes her incredible development. Tara is the lifetime companion of a befriended physician of mine in Oklahoma. For almost two years she didn't seem to make any progress in our group. During an intensive sessions with Christine during the last training she experienced an incredible breakthrough: Since then Tara is able to help the most difficult patient due to her own extraordinary experience and her 'energetic background'. It was great to be present at this transformation process. It is even more astonishing that Christine patiently waited for two years to the moment until Tara was 'ripe'. Tara works after Christine, neither Lina nor I use the more formal aspects of her work.

The decisive thing I learned form Christine can be reduced to a common denominator: every kind of relationship with other people, no matter if a partner-relationship, friendship, business relationship or doctor-patient-relationship, is decisively influenced by one single factor: What am I doing with me and the other on the invisible level while establishing relationship with the other? What is the other doing with himself and with me? If I am present on both levels (energetic and physical) the contact functions. If not, something goes wrong every time: the other doesn't get what s/he needs or I do not get what I need. Or I even get something I do not want or I am not able to handle…

I am surely not Christine's most talented student. To me the world of energies always seemed close, but closed. For decades I have searched for a teacher who could help me to understand energetic phenomena. I knew that not having a clear approach to these phenomena would endanger my work in the long run. My quest brought me to India, to the U.S. and to many different schools and many teachers. I am grateful for everything I was able to learn. I am only in my baby shoes concerning the world of energies, but Christine has helped me in a very competent way. Therefore I'd like to thank her very much.
