The Energy Body - A universal definition
Currently when searching for information regarding the Energy Body in Wikipedia you will find that the Energy Body of a person described as an aura that for psychically sensitive or similarly inclined individuals is seen as a color spectrum. It encompasses the body in a cloud or like a wreath of light and is palpable. Furthermore it is stated that it consists of various layers.
11 years ago things were very different. I created this word to simplify matters and to define a body that contains all the layers, all the bodies, all the meridians, all the auras, fields, charkas, and energy points. In short it was my attempt to include everything that can be learned, heard, read about and seen in this regard. I wanted to explain the fact that we have a second I, and therefore a second personality. Even though we all are unique, we also have a double comparable to Goethe's poem about the ginkgo leaf. Just like the physical body has more than one layer of skin or muscle there are different layers or bodies within the Energy Body. It has organs and senses as well, just like the physical body.
The meaning of my word creation was often misunderstood and initially was difficult for most to comprehend: Yes to mental body, emotional body, and even an aura, but what is an Energy Body? More than one body or layer seems plausible, but only one, why?
If you look at the atlas of the anatomy you will see every organ depicted separately. The sum of these depictions is the physical body. With my word creation, I created a genus in order to give all the subordinate terms such as mental body, level, layer, field, chakra, meridian, nadi etc. a home. There also is an anatomy as well as a physiology in the energy field1. There are Energy-Body illnesses as well. Although the symptoms for an Energy-Body fever or an Energy-Body heart attack are completely different from the physical body counterpart symptoms therapists or a doctors are accustomed to, and can easily recognize. Or stated differently: heart pain does not always have to do with lovesickness or separation. There are also Energy-Body ailments.
The Energy Body and its medicineHowever at the time, this was not the only reason why the Energy Body was important to me. Eleven years ago I suggested that, analog to medical terminology, we should consider a more holistic approach comparable to that employed in general medicine in regard to the Energy-Body medical aspects before we reflect on the specialist areas (work on and in the body, its fields, layers and chakras). The work on the whole Energy Body, taking into consideration that within this body there are many other vital other organs and functions and not only, for a example a charka that has to be re-balanced, requires a completely different kind of attention to detail than is required when only concentrating on one aspect.
Therefore looking at this from an analogical standpoint we find that the problems and work processes applied in general medicine are different than those in other specialized fields. The mindfulness required for work in the energy field has to be much higher, especially when one is aware of the fact that an intervention can negatively affect other organic areas or functions - similar to what can occur during surgery. This is true for the Energy Body as well. I wanted to stress the independence of the Energy Body. I also wanted to point out that there are so many problem areas where specialization is not required, but "merely" the vital knowledge that the relationship between the two bodies, the physical body and the Energy Body is not functioning. I consider it important to point out that it is not necessary to immediately assume that a blocked chakra, a conflict or a defect in the mental body is the cause of a problem. Similar to the way we would not immediately contact a specialist for all our little aches and pains. It's all quite simple. I was merely pointing out that the anatomy, its many functions and their relationship are very complex and should be taken into consideration during any energy work.
Medicine and the Energy BodyFurthermore it always has been of great importance to me that my work finds its way into accepted medical practices. Particularly in the context of differential diagnosis, such as by diffuse pain problems without any clinical evidence. In 1999/2000 Mr. Dietrich Klinghardt participated in the first year of my 3-year
®-Technique Training Program (Basic Program). He is a medical doctor and works in the fields of Psycho Kinesiology, Autonomous Regulations Diagnostics and Mental-Field Therapy.
I am very pleased that my work was so well received by Mr. Klinghardt that he incorporated the term Energy Body in his own works, thereby raising the term recognition of Energy Body significantly. Even though I do not agree with some of Mr. Klinghardt's views in regard to his classification of this body and the related teachings I would like to express gratitude for his help. This has made it possible to give the Energy Body the significance it deserves. It also underscores my basic premise that viewing all energy sources as gathered in one body is not fallacious and should certainly be taken seriously by open-minded alternative medical practitioners and therapists, and that energetics not immediately be compared to esoterics and the like.
For almost 30 years I have dedicated myself to energetic issues. I have worked for many years specifically with the issues relating to recognizing and dealing with misapplication and energetic manipulation. This was the area in which I originally specialized. Over the course of time I also began dealing with false diagnosis and errors in treatment using energetic techniques.
This work has provided me with a virtual plethora of consolidated findings. The most important being the following:
To include energetics as a possible cause of physical and psychological problems were, for instance the 5th chakra is blocked when one coughs, is a common area of understanding. When, however there are two separate bodies that belong together yet can function independently (i.e. such as out-of-body experiences) it should be taken into consideration that it is possible that there are independent Energy-Body illnesses, which cannot be associated with any physical or psychological problems. A mother conflict, for instance, or similar cannot always be treated by energy work. Therefore I consider it of utmost importance to recognize the Energy-Body independence. This is the reason I teach Energy-Body anatomy and physiology: On the one hand to clearly show the limits of diagnostic connections and, on the other, to put other possible areas into the equation as possible causes of the symptoms.
A Look to the FutureThe more people seeking energetic therapies to help alleviate physical and psychological problems, the more we will have to find a balance between the reciprocity of energetic therapies in their various forms. There are so many techniques that work within the layers, bodies or chakras and therefore in all areas of the Energy-Body anatomy. This means that we will have to increasingly reflect on the fact that this energetic work must be viewed in an overall context. Here as well a fundamental knowledge of the Energy-Body anatomy is very helpful in order to better define and localize one's own work area within the complete anatomy. The questions that should be addressed are, for instance, which Energy-Body organs (chakras, meridians, etc) can be found in the vicinity of my work that requires special attention, which processes must be avoided and so on.
As a result, in the future, contra-indicators in energetic therapies that are result of prior individual Energy-Body problems2 will have to be taken into consideration. I also would like to point out that energetic therapies can have different effects and that these can definitely lead to certain Energy-Body related ailments or conditions, which can prove to be contra-indicators3. For instance an individual's condition, who has had an out-of-body experience and therefore frequently is a person who has difficulty remaining in his or her physical body, should not additionally be adversely affected by accompanying processes, examinations or tests in which the Energy Body and its individual bodily parts (emotional, mental body, etc.) are separated. These examinations for an Energy Body that has been subjected to such an experience are particularly stressful and only lead to possible alienation and further drifting away. It would be much more beneficial to only keep the interaction of both bodies, which has with a great degree of certainty become very instable, in perspective: Something that undoubtedly has had a major impact on the overall condition of the patient. Being able to work effectively by taking the interaction into consideration requires knowledge of the Energy-Body anatomy, comparable to that required of a medical doctor.
There are symptoms, which are not even covered by diagnosis classifications and therefore generally labeled as "various/other". There are symptoms that cannot be explained and cannot be treated by commonly accepted energetic interventions. As I have mentioned, not all ailments can be defined by their relationship to the energetic. Overall knowledge of the anatomy of the Energy Body and the knowledge of the relationship between both bodies is a great advantage here.
Finding a balance in the future - recognizing the Energy Body as a separate bodyAs an important service to patients, for their support and treatment I find it just as essential to look at the whole system, as it is to look at various bodies, layers or meridians in the context of a medical specialist. Both however are necessary. That the individual responsibility for treating the physical body is taken very seriously and often can be a matter of life or death, it is quite understandable that a great deal of knowledge must be acquired in order to deal properly with the circumstances. It also should be quite clear that the same attention and responsibility should be given to all procedures dealing with the Energy Body.
